Build strong reading comprehension skills for second grade students with close reading, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing activities.
Each of the 10 units includes a one-page nonfiction text and supporting activities that are easy to scaffold, such as:
-Picture dictionary: content and Words to Know list
-I Read and Understand: reading comprehension activity
-I Read Closely: close reading activity
-Words I Know: vocabulary activity
-I Can Write: scaffolded writing activity that can be used for pre-writing
-What I Learned: text-based writing assignment to culminate the unit
