This history recounts the intertwined fates of their last leader, Quanah Parker, son of the chief Peta Nocona and a white woman, Cynthia Ann Parker, and his nemesis, the ruthless Civil War veteran Ranald ‘Bad Hand’ Mackenzie, in the brutal wars that spelled the beginning of the end for Native Americans.
